At Lavish, great hair starts with connection. We’re a human-first salon built on the belief that growth, education, and genuine relationships are just as important as the work we create. What began in 2014 on Rio Grande Blvd. found a new home in 2019 inside a converted mechanic shop on Quincy St., where we continue to transform hair, challenge ourselves, and grow together.

Why I opened Lavish

When I opened Lavish, it came from a belief that knowledge was meant to be shared.

After traveling across the U.S. to learn new techniques, gain different perspectives, and grow as a stylist, I felt strongly that what I learned shouldn’t stop with me.

I believed our guests deserved to know what was possible, and our stylists deserved access to more education, opportunities, and information.

More than anything, I believed our local beauty industry had so much potential, and I wanted to be part of helping it grow.

Today, we’re proud to stand alongside so many incredible leaders in Albuquerque who continue to raise the standard, share their knowledge, and move our industry forward.

Lavish was never just about doing great hair. It was about creating more opportunities for everyone.

What we do

Times below are ranges because length, density and color history all change the clock. New color and extension guests have to book a consultation first. It’s how we give you an accurate time and price before you sit down for the real thing.

Color

Color retouch & single process2–3.5 hrs
All-over color or a root touch-up. Also the service for going darker.
Gloss & blowdry1–1.5 hrs
Shine and tone between bigger color visits, or on natural hair.
Corrective color8–12+ hrs
Box dye, banding, uneven past work, tones you don’t like.

Blonde

Balayage & highlighting3–6 hrs
Hand-painted, foiled, or both. Soft grow-out or bright and bold.
Bleach retouch4–6 hrs
Lightener on 4 to 6 weeks of regrowth, then toner.
Platinum Card8–12+ hrs
A full head of fine foils for even, high lift.
Bleach-outs & vivid color6–8 hrs
Root-to-end lightening, then platinum or any color that feels the most you!

Cut & style

Haircuts1–1.5 hrs
All lengths and textures. Add 30 minutes for long or thick hair.
Shampoo & blowout1–1.5 hrs
Smooth, voluminous or textured. You’ll never want to wash your own hair again!
Conditioning treatments1–1.5 hrs
For hair that’s dry, breaking or over-processed.

With your deposit, we’ll secure your hair and begin preparing for your transformation. Each set is carefully quality-checked and custom-colored if needed, so it’s ready for your installation day.
Install & stylingQuoted
Your stylist will create a comfortable install and a seamless blend that looks and feels like your own hair. You’ll leave with personalized care instructions, a maintenance plan, and a complimentary extension-safe product to get you started.

That’s the whole bill. We’re a gratuity-free salon.

Great hair is our standard. Individuality is our signature. Every Lavish stylist brings their own artistry to their work, backed by a shared commitment to quality and continued education. How levels work New Talent, $45/hr
Our New Talent stylists are growing their skills and experience while providing a variety of services, including haircuts, color retouches, highlights, and even corrective color. They may require additional time and guidance from our experienced educators to achieve your desired results. Booking with New Talent is a great way to enjoy quality hair services at a more accessible price while supporting the next generation of talented stylists! Levels 1 to 3, $60 to $90/hr
Our Level 1–3 stylists have gained valuable experience behind the chair and continue to develop their skills, including more advanced cutting and coloring techniques. They are equipped to perform a full range of haircutting and coloring services while continuing to refine their craft and discover their specialties. Booking with a Level 1–3 stylist is a great way to enjoy personalized, quality hair services at an approachable price while supporting their continued professional growth! Levels 4 and 5, $105+/hr
Our Level 4+ stylists are experienced professionals who have invested years behind the chair and countless hours in advanced education to master their craft. They have developed their specialties and are confident in recommending fresh looks, making transformative changes, and customizing services to fit your lifestyle. Booking with a Level 4+ stylist is a great choice for guests looking for expert guidance, creative inspiration, and the latest trends and techniques!

Walk in and look up

Quincy St

From the street, Quincy St looks like every other building on an industrial block. Then you walk in and the ceilings go up about two stories over steel-framed mirrors. Every stylist adds songs to the salon playlist, so it swings from country to techno by lunch.

Desirre sketched the stations herself and a local ironworks shop built them. Most of the build-out, front desk included, came from Albuquerque shops too.

Coffee and snacks are out on the counter. Regulars just help themselves. In the fall we roll up the garage doors and let the sun in.

Ignite 505

Ignite 505 is an annual celebration of creativity, artistry, and community, founded in 2021 to reignite Albuquerque’s creative spirit following the pandemic. Bringing together talented artists, local businesses, and creatives across multiple industries, the event features live hair artistry, flash tattoos, local vendors, and interactive experiences. Your first visit

  • Arrive 5 to 10 minutes early
  • A credit card on file holds your appointment
  • We’re card-only: AMEX, Visa, Mastercard, Discover
  • Complimentary drinks and WiFi
  • Complimentary parking in our lot, plus street parking

Changing plans

  • Give us 48 hours’ notice. Text and email reminders go out 2 days before.
  • Under 24 hours: 50% of the time booked, or 2 hours, whichever is less
  • No-shows: full service cost, or 2 hours, whichever is less
  • Running up to 15 minutes late? Call us. We may shorten the service to fit. If we’re running late, you can reschedule at no charge.

After your appointment

  • Adjustments are complimentary within 10 days. That excludes extra lightening, a new goal, or switching stylists.
  • Don’t love a product? Swap it within 14 days for one of equal or lesser value.
  • Defective product? We’ll replace it.
